This term in woodwork we are making footstools. This week we used the saw to cut out the pieces we need.
We have been busy in the kitchen rustling up some rice krispie buns and pizza!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We are all happy to be back at school for a new term. We celebrated with a trip to The Twelve in Baran for a delicious hot chocolate!
SANTA COMES TO VISIT!
CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY!
We had a very special Christmas jumper day at school this year. We all enjoyed getting in the Christmas spirit. Barry cooked us all a delicious Christmas dinner and we got to celebrate a birthday. It was a very exciting day.
We love cookery in Senior 2. One of our pupils takes cookery very seriously. Here he is preparing some Christmas Gingerbread Cookies for us to try.
COMMUNICATION AND LITERACY
Each morning in circle time we share our news. Here is one of our pupils typing up his news of the day.
We have had some lovely social outings in recent weeks. We really enjoyed our hot chocolate in Dangan Tea rooms and the craft village in Spiddal. And of course we had to take a trip to Smyth's for December, which we were all very excited about.
Senior 2 have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen this term. We have really enjoyed working on our kitchen skills and especially love tasting our food afterwards!
BACK TO SCHOOL
We are all delighted to be back at school this week. We spent our first few days doing some autumn activities and getting to know each other as we shared our news at circle time and played games on the yard.
MUSIC WITH CORMAC
On our morning walk, pupils collected autumn leaves and acorns. We used a range of materials and methods to explore autumn through art.
Bus outing to Woodies to look at Halloween decorations!
In cookery we have practiced making healthy smoothies and tasty pizza.
This month we have been working on pattern and some Halloween themed maths activities.
THE WONDER PROJECT
Created by artist Phillida Eves in collaboration with composer/musician Michael Chang and choreographer/dancer Monica Muñoz, the Wonder Project had a week long residency in our school where the children are co-creators of the experience. The Wonder Project is an interactive, sensory experience for the children. Live music, movement and a feast of sensory engagement lead the children to discover and explore their own stories, dance, and creativity.
It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
We were all dressed up today for the Halloween disco!!
