Living in the Community
We loved doing our string paintings and also learned about symmetry.
We used tissue paper to make beautiful Cherry Blossoms trees.
We visited Gap House and used the facilities. They have a lovely sensory room. It’s like our one at school. We used their playground too. It was fun!
We made pancakes for pancake day and put delicious topping. They were yummy!!
We made burgers with lettuce onion and tomato. They were really tasty.
We made really tasty Valentine’s cookies and decorated them with icing. We looked at the paintings of Kandinsky and printed different sized hearts to represent our artwork. We also made cards for our loved ones. We all brainstormed words of the things that we love and what love means to us. We produced a lovely display to represent our feelings.
As part of healthy eating we are learning about the different food groups and healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. We made delicious tomato soup that was packed with vegetables, yummy fruit and yoghurt pots and healthy scrambled eggs on toast.

Literacy and writing
We enjoy creating our own stories, typing them on the laptop. When they are printed we display them on our creative writing board.
The ‘Wonder Project team’ came to the school to work with us. We explored dance, music and engaged in lots of lovely sensory activities. It was very calming and also lot of fun. We performed for other pupils and then they all joined in with us.
We also went to see the show ‘A Grand Soft Day’ as part of the Baboro Festival.
We have been doing work on money and time and use the interactive whiteboard as a fun way to show what we have learned.
We looked at the painting "A Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh and the ‘cool’ colours he used. Then we looked at the painting "Thumble of Sunflowers" by Erin Hanson to learn about ‘warm’ colours. We produced half and half pictures to show the contrast.
We looked at different types of leaves as part of our Autumn theme. We did leaf rubbings and made bird feeders. We hung them on the branches so the birds can have a feast!
We looked at the colours of the leaves and using tinfoil and paint created beautiful autumn trees.
We used different sponges and chose cool colours to print our ‘Umbrella’s In The Rain’ pictures.
We learnt about primary colours and explored mixing colours together to make secondary colours and shades.
We go shopping to get the ingredients for cookery lessons. We use a shopping list to remind us of what we need to buy, then we locate and pay for the items.
