Living in the Community
We have been going on some fun outing on the bus. Here are some of the lovely places we have been:
NUIG to pick some conkers for an art project.
Dara, Emily and Ciara did their Confirmation this year. Before we had our Confirmation we went for a visited to the Church of the Sacred Heart in Westside. We got familiar with the church and practiced for our big day. We also lit a candle for our families and friends.
The big day arrived and we were very excited. We had a beautiful ceremony and got to celebrate the gifts of the holy spirit with our families and friends.
We got to do lots of fun things in the week coming up to Halloween.
We carved a pumpkin with Chef Karen and made delicious pumpkin soup.
We made some Rice Krispy pumpkins.
We had a great time dressing up and dancing to Halloween songs.

Tea Party Senior 1 set the table every Friday morning and invite some of S6 students to join them for a tea party. They set the table with cups and saucers, plates and serviettes. The table cloth was put on the table. A restaurant effect was created. The students enjoyed it learning table manners and appropriate behaviours. The students were enabled to make tea and toast, butter the toast. Share treats and turn taking skills developed. This activity fits into the JC See photos below. A very enjoyable experience was had by all students.
Woodwork - All Senior 1 pupils are enabled to work at woodwork class. They cut timber, plain it and make various items out of wood. The pupils enjoy the class and are doing well in class.
