We had a very sucessful dress rehearsal today when the pupils played to a packed house. The audience was mainly made up of people from Ability West adult centres, staff and transition year students from Colaiste Iognaid, and pupils and staff from Educate Together National School . Our pupils certainly rose to the occasion and everyone present appeared to enjoy the show. We are confident that Friday's performance will every bit as good. The pupils have been practicing for weeks and are keen to show off their talents.
On the left are some pictures of some of the actors and some members of the band/ choir at practice last week.
We have been very busy for the last few weeks rehearsing for the Christmas show. Pupils and staff have worked really hard. We will be adding the finishing touches next week. There is a dress rehearsal on Wednesday Dec 12th at 11.00. The main performance is at 11.00am on Friday Dec 14th. We are delighted to have four pupils from Galway Educate Together School taking a small part in the show.
The Christmas Concert is always a highlight of the school year in St Joseph's. Parents, families and friends are all welcome to come and see how well the pupils can perfom. Refreshments will be served after the show.
On Wednesday Dec 5th the Mayor Councillor Terri O'Flatherty presented the school with certificates and prizes for our garden display in 2011 and 2012. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Dangan Nurseries we have vouchers to the value of €100 which can be used to maintain and develop the gardening programme. We are very fortunate to have a large site which can accomodate a wide range of plants. Take a look at Aran Gallagers pictures to see nature up close. Aran's Photography Blog
