We are a few problems with the website at the moment. We have lost some of our nice pictures. Hope to get it sorted soon.
Hello in 16 languages. This nice display inside the front door illustrates how diverse our school community is. This was celebrated at assembly last week with a song from Senior 6 which let us practice greeting each other using the native language of the pupils.
Assembly is a lovely start to the school day. Classes take turns leading it with songs, dance, drama or presentations. This week Senior 5 entertained us with the story of St Brendan's Voyage. Looking forward to next week to see what Senior 4 have prepared .
We were all excited to see each other on Thursday September 1st and we are looking forward to a great year in St Joseph's. A special welcome to the seven new pupils and their families who have joined us.
We certainly got off to a good start as we were informed that the school had won an award in the Tidy Towns Competition for the best school eco garden. Awards will be presented in October. Thanks to the hard working Green School Committee who spearheaded gardening activities last year and to all the staff in all classes who enabled pupils to participate.
St Joseph’s is a special school under the patronage of the voluntary organisation Ability West. Education in all aspects of the primary school curriculum is provided for pupils between the ages 4- 18 who have moderate general learning disabilities. Programmes are designed to meet individual needs so as to enable pupils to reach their full potential.
