Mary Nee and Maureen Farrell started teaching swimming to our pupils many years ago.We are unsure as to how long they have been with us but it is certainly more than 23 years. The two ladies have decided to ease up on their commitments this year and, as a token of our appreciation for the contribution they have made to the development of so many pupils down through the years, we invited them to the school to say goodbye to everybody. The were presented with cards from all the classes and each received a Galway Crystal vase as a memento from the school. Karen Gallagher presented them with flowers on behalf of the parents' association. Two other swimming teachers Frances Daly and Anna Sweeney joined us for coffee and cakes in the staff room. We will miss Maureen and Mary but we expect they will keep in touch and will drop in to Leisureland some Friday morning to see how the pupils are progressing. Click on the photos below
