The school were delighted to receive a large number of bare root hedge plants and a selection of apple trees through our engagement with Hare's Corner. This initiative provides practical and hassle-free support to take actions for nature – such as creation of mini-woodlands, heritage orchards, wildlife ponds, wildlife hedges and preparation of bespoke ‘plans for nature’.
It was a perfect opportunity for our Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle pupils to gets involved in some work out in nature. We look forward to watching our new hedge develop. https://theharescorner.ie/

Please find below our Christmas Show 2025. James worked very hard on this throughout the week to ensure it was ready for you for Christmas Eve.
We hope you enjoy watching the show as much as we did. We know many of us watched the live performance with tears of pride and joy — it really was fabulous. Not all pupils were able to make it onto the stage on the day, but many took great enjoyment and pride in the practice sessions in class, in the hall, and on stage on other days. The show represents a significant achievement for our pupils, their families, and our staff alike. Congratulations to all of our pupils on their efforts. The weeks leading up to Christmas at St. Joseph’s School have been busy and full of magic. Our school community enjoyed many special moments, including Breakfast with Santa and our traditional Christmas dinner, which gave everyone a chance to come together and enjoy the season in a warm and happy atmosphere
We are so grateful to Annette for putting together our Christmas Concert, where pupils proudly shared their talents and brought great joy to families and staff. The excitement will peak with a special visit from Santa on Thursday! As the term comes to a close, we would like to wish all our families a very happy and peaceful Christmas. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year. Our pupils were delighted to be invited to a classical music concert in Croí. We all walked to the concert and enjoyed a beautiful musical performance from the viola and cello duo, Dragonfly. The pupils were enthralled and enjoyed the experience. A huge thank you from all the attendees to our neighbours in Croí for extending an invite to us to attend the wonderful concert..
TSG hosted its first swim meet of the 2025/26 session with friends from St Joseph’s Special School and Ballinasloe Eagles SO Club lighting up the pool with some great swimming and personal bests. The lads had a great time at the event and can't wait for the next one.
A special thanks to all the volunteers who helped with the catering, to our friends in Bluefin for officiating and to all in Kilcornan Leisure Centre / Brothers of Charity for their continued support and encouragement. Our Halloween Parade was filled with laughter and excitement as pupils proudly showed off their creative costumes, from spooky ghosts to dazzling superheroes. There was great energy in the hall as pupils took turns on the microphone with Halloween cheers that brought smiles all round.
Adding to the festive fun, Paris Bubbles made a special visit, filling the air with bubbles that had everyone delighted. It was a memorable day before everyone headed off for midterm break. |
