Community Month was a lot of fun. We all loved being firemen using the water hose, trying on the heavy hats and sitting up in the rig. The guards let us sit in the squad car and we even turned on the siren! Nurse Margaret ran a teddy bear hospital and our old bus driver, Paddy, brought the civil defence ambulance to school for the children to explore. What a month!
We all enjoyed our sun soaked sports day and neighbourhood walk

THE NEW YEAR Just as we went on our Christmas holidays, we got word that our class had won a prize in the Galway Advertiser Christmas Art competition. What excitement! In January, we received our prize - We had a party to opened our parcel lots of twistable colouring crayons and lots of colouring books. At the beginning of the New Year, we also had fun working on the theme of transport. We had a big train table in our classroom with lots and lots of trains. Needless to say, everyone had so much fun playing and cooperating when the train table was brought out!
WINTER IS HERE!
The winter season brought lots of excitement. We celebrated science week with some fun experiments - foaming mixtures and exploding bottle caps as well as swirling coloured milk! Then it was time to prepare for Christmas. We visited McGaugh's Garden Centre and explored their Christmas displays and spent a lovely time walking through the Christmas Market - looking at the transformation of Eyre Square into a Christmas Wonderland. We were also invited to NUIG to experience a sensory performance called "Hear Our Voice". In school, there were great celebrations with the return of our annual Christmas Dinner party and of course a visit from the Big Man himself, Santa!
