Welcome to Junior 3
Welcome to Junior 3
We are all very happy to be back in school. The children in Junior 3 this year are Sama, Luke, Stephanie, Emily, Ciara and Aoibheann. The adults in the room are Aoife, Helen and Ivana.
Junior 3 went on their school tour, unfortunately three pupils were not able to make it. We had a busy/fun day in Monkey Business, Supermacs, the playground in Salthill and we then got an ice-cream before going back to school.
May was a very busy month for four pupils in Junior 3 preparing for their Holy Communion. They made their Holy Communion with pupils from Junior 4 and 5. Everyone did so well on their Holy Communion day and they all looked fantastic! Back in school on the Monday the pupils were presented with a Communion Certificate from Mary and we had a party in the afternoon.
April Clean Up
Junior 3 took part in a school clean up. They picked up litter at the front of the school.
Easter Egg Hunt
We went outside for an Easter egg hunt before going home for the holidays. The children had fun trying to find the eggs.
We planted pansies in a window box and placed it on the windowsill outside our classroom. We all took turns putting the compost into the box and the flowers.
We went on a social outing to Katie's Claddagh Cottage. We enjoyed exploring the cottage.
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day by dressing in green and listening to music in the hall.
We went for a spring walk around the school grounds and to a local garden centre to look for signs of spring and to smell the beautiful flowers.
On Shrove Tuesday Junior 3 heated up pancakes. They spread nutella on them, then put apple and banana on top. One student said it was 'delicious'.
The pupils in Junior 3 took turns putting compost in and placing a daffodil bulb in a pot. The pupils are going to take it in turns to water the plants.
As the weather is so mild and we do not think it will snow we decided to make our own snow.
Santa came to St. Joseph's to give all the pupils presents. Junior 3 were very excited to see him.
Junior 3 before they went on stage to do their Silly Dance. They were all very excited!
During Science Week Junior 3 did a experiment to see could raisins dance. The children put water into a glass, then vinegar, baking soda and then the raisins. The children watched the raisins rise to the surface, fall and rise again.
Junior 3 made scary spiders and witches during art, we also carved a pumpkin. Before the Halloween holidays we wore our costumes to school and danced to Thriller with all of our friends in the hall.
During the Children's Arts Festival we went to see a show called I Pack My Suitcase. Here is a picture of us before the show.
We recently went to the playground at the Cathedral. Everyone had a great time!
Here are a few pictures of our first music lesson with Cormac. We all had great fun!
