Welcome to the Junior 2 webpage. This year, Emer, Sharon and Maitha are the adults working with the pupils in Junior 2. We are hoping to have a year packed full of exciting activities and learning. We hope to keep you updated regularly on all our learning experiences by posting photographs on our page.
Junior 2 enjoyed a lesson on things that sink and things that float. We also had fun floating paper boats!
Junior 2 had an early school tour this year and we were so lucky with the weather. We visited Kilcornan's walled garden. We explored the sensory gardens and took a walk in the forest area. We also enjoyed a lovely picnic. Everyone agreed that it was a lot of fun!
On April 25th, Junior Two celebrated Earth Day by cleaning up one of the school courtyards.
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day in style with a school ceili and the musicians were thrilled to have a very special guest join them on stage.
March was full of surprises, from snow storms to early springtime sunshine! And, no matter what the weather, Junior two enjoyed it all. On a beautiful sunny March day, we visited the senior vegetable garden to enhance our knowledge of how vegetables grown and explored the the winter vegetables growing there.
After a long and wet January, Junior two are ready for some fun!
On Thursday, February 22nd, we had a juggler give us juggling lessons! If you look at the photographs, you will see the fun we had!
Our trip to the train station and Dealz certainly fit the bill to ward off the winter blues! And then the sun shone at last and Junior 2 had the opportunity to search for daffodils around the school gardens!
We had a very exciting January in St. Joseph's School when you new school library was opened. There are lots of fun activities to explore in the library. Junior 2 also enjoyed exploring our new train tracks table and lots of trains in our classroom.
The excitement of Christmas has begun! The pupils in Junior two are busy exploring Christmas stories, songs and art work. We had time to take a trip to the swan sanctuary in Rusheen Bay Park and on the last week of school, we enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner with all our friends at school and on Thursday, SANTA arrived!
The weather cooled down and we worked on the change in seasons. We explored the leaves on the ground and the apples left on the trees. November is also a wonderful time in the classroom where the pupils have settled down and are enjoying the different aspects of Junior 2.

In November, Junior 2 explored the work on doctors, dentists, physios and nurses. They learned about going to visit the hospital and the dentist. We had lots of fun trying on a leg cast and pretending we broke our legs!
The pupils enjoyed playing together on wet November days.
Everyone has settled into and enjoying Junior 2 and looking forward to Halloween!
We made a scary pumpkin - everyone enjoyed making our Jack O Lantern!
Junior 2 enjoyed a trip to Dangan Nurseries to look at the lovely flowers and the chickens and rabbits!
On a rainy day in October, Junior 2 had the opportunity to visit Tigh Ronain, the Galway Autism Partnership house, in Laurel Park. The pupils had so much fun exploring the sensory room and play room.
All the pupils in Junior 2 have been enjoying exploring and discovering new and interesting materials in our room.
We had fun practicing for going to the eye doctor!
