This week all classes had a chance to make two popular breakfast dishes using eggs as the main ingredient. Scrambled eggs on toast and French toast went down a treat with most pupils. We followed a step by step pictorial recipe to make the dishes. Copies of the recipes are in the cookery folders so pupils can have a go at doing these at home with a little help.
The pupils have been making good old fashioned porridge this week and it is proving to be almost as popular as last weeks pancakes. Pupils have a choice of toppings- berries, bananas or seeds to make the porridge tasty and healthy.
We have been talking about the need for clean hands when preparing food. Click on the link below to see an entertaining cartoon on washing hands. The pupils enjoyed singing along.
Cookery classes for pupils in the senior school are starting this week. For the next few weeks we will be talking about the most important meal of the day -breakfast. We all need a healthy breakfast to give us energy for the day ahead. We will be looking at options for breakfast and exploring personal likes and dislikes.
We will be making pancakes which are a favourite with almost everyone. The fruit in these pancakes count as one of the five portions of fruit or vegetables that we need to eat everyday.
